whooosh is a file transfer service that enables users to quickly and reliably send and receive large files over the internet. It eliminates the problems associated with FTP, the file size limitations of Email, and the expense and unreliability of iSDN. users Users (registered customers of whooosh) can send files to anyone they have nominated as a Client (which can include their customers, colleagues or suppliers). clients Client's can send files to a whooosh User provided that the User has nominated them as an approved Client and given them authority to send files. (NB Users can approve Clients for either sending or retrieving files - or both). Transfers to and from their Clients are deducted from the Users Transfer Allowance on download (see 'Packages' for prices and charging details). users sending files Simply log in to whooosh using your user name and password, select the file you want to send, the Client you want to send the file to and just click to send.
Once the file has been sent, whooosh generates an automatic email to your target Client notifying them that the file is ready for them to retrieve. (NB. The email will include information about the sender and the file). clients retrieving files When your Client receives an email from whooosh telling them that the file from you is ready to be retrieved, it includes a link direct to that file on the whooosh server. They simply log in to whoosh, select the relevant file or files (they will only be able to see any file/s intended for them) and click to download them.
You will then receive an email from whooosh informing you that your Client has started downloading the file. clients sending files User's Clients can send files to the User by logging in to whooosh from either the Users own web site (if the User has taken advantage of the iframe solution - see user zone for more information) or from the whooosh website. They simply log in to whooosh using their Client id number and password, select the file/s they want to send, and click to send.
Once the file has been sent, whooosh sends an email notifying you that the file or files are ready for you to retrieve. (NB. The email will include information about the sender and the file). users retrieving files When you receive an email from whooosh telling you that a file or files are ready to be retrieved, it will include a link direct to your whooosh page. Just log in to whooosh, view your list of files awaiting retrieval, then download any file/s you want at that time. sending multiple files You can send any type of single file or multiple files over whooosh but you cannot send an uncompressed folder. However, you can compress a folder with any number of files in it using 'Create Archive' from the 'File' menu on the Mac or proprietary compression applications such as Stuff-it or WinZip. multiple users and remote access You can access and use your whooosh User account from any PC or Mac with internet access. This means that you can use whooosh remotely from anywhere in the world, and that anyone in your company can access it and and use it from any Mac or PC within your business.
Of course, only Users you have authorised and provided with password access will be able to access and use your account. users sending to multiple clients You can send your chosen file's to multiple Clients by simply clicking and adding their names to the 'send to' pane on the 'send files' page.
